Dress for success, even in the home office.
During my freshman year of college, during exam week, I had an encounter that stuck with me. I stumbled into the dorm bathroom, disheveled and in the same sweats as the day before. A hallmate walked by dressed sharply. I asked where he was off to, and he replied, to my history exam; if you look good, you feel good, and if you feel good, you do good."
Fast forward to my current life as an entrepreneur. When I dive into work early, I can get lost in tasks, and if I don't change out of my comfy loungewear, it feels like a sick day. Plus, there's that occasional panic when I hear the dogs bark, fearing someone might stop by and think I'm just binge-watching Netflix.
Many can relate, whether squeezing in last-minute chores or juggling a tight schedule before virtual meetings. It's about maintaining work/life boundaries while feeling confident in your choices.
I'm not saying you need to don uncomfortable attire for Zoom meetings. The beauty of working from home is the comfy pants, right? But starting the day with a "look good, do good" mentality can reduce anxiety and boost confidence in your new venture. It's about feeling ready to conquer the day!
